Manufacture and Supply of Original Kaloam Cricket Wicket Dressing

Roffey Brothers have been manufacturing and supplying a wide range of top dressings and rootzones for over 70 years. We are pleased to announce that the production of “Kaloam” using the original loam source has commenced and both loose and bagged Kaloam are now being sold for cricket wicket dressing and construction.

Alan Ford, who managed the original production facility at Enstone for over a decade, who has joined Roffey Brothers on a consultancy basis, says “ It is important that continuity of the original raw materials is used to ensure that panning, rootsheer and binding strength is not adversely affected.” He goes on to add “That the use of alternative raw materials with a different profile analysis may not be apparent until the following season after application when the wicket will develop uneven speed and bounce”.

Dave Morland, Roffey Brothers Technical Sales Manager, who is co-ordinating Kaloam sales, says that the new company’s priority is to restore the quality, integrity and availability of the product after last year’s issues.
